The Global Peace Foundation Kenya in collaboration with Kenya Private Schools Association, Centre for Mathematics, Science and Technology Education in Africa (CEMASTEA), Opinion Track Limited and other partners, initiated an annual program called the Great Places to School (GPTS) Initiative.
This research-based rating exercise identifies, rates, and recognizes schools with innovative learning environments and overall school cultures contribute to the holistic development of a child.
Now in its 5th edition since its initiation in 2019, GPTS provides an annual report card that offers precise, objective, and comprehensible data about unique and distinctive school cultures. The initiative’s primary vision is to enhance the quality of learning in schools by regularly confirming various competencies and aligning them with 21st-century education demands.
The program is part of the Global Peace Foundation’s broader vision of utilizing education as a tool for peacebuilding globally. GPF-Kenya encourages collaboration with other education stakeholders to accomplish well-rounded learning techniques and seeks nominations for the upcoming edition in 10 categories designed to promote transformative and holistic learning.

Call to Action
The schools interested in participating will be required to fill in the online nomination form at www.greatplacestoschool.com in any category (s). The step will then be followed by physical verification of the submitted data by our team and volunteers. The collected data will be handed over to the judges for verdict, and the winning schools will be informed. The final stage of the competition is the awarding ceremony, which is proposed to take place on 27thJune, 2025 at the Panari Hotel, Nairobi.
